The United Nations and partners support Hurricane Irma affected states:

In the wake of Hurricane Irma, the Caribbean is once more benefiting from the technical support of the UK-based MapAction which assists humanitarian agencies with the mapping of affected areas in terms of response and assessment, as well as, relief and recovery operations.

The organization has primarily deployed with the UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) team over the years and are doing so this year as part of the first wave of CDEMA coordinated Rapid Assessment Teams going in to the affected Northern Caribbean territories as of September 6.

In upcoming weeks, the team will begin detailed mapping on a sector by sector basis.
