UNDP Barbados & the OECS through its implementing partner the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources is executing the DREAM Project in Barbados.

The main objective of this project is to reduce GHG emissions and to improve the island's disaster risk response. Under this project, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with battery backup are being installed at twenty-two (22) at community centres and pavilions and nine (9) polyclinics across the island. These first response locations are used as relief centres in the event of a disaster.

The PV systems will provide clean power to the facilities thereby reducing emissions and improving the disaster resilience of Barbadian communities.
